Extrusion

Extrusion of aluminium profiles is the process in which raw material, cast in logs, is pushed through a die which is situated in the press and is re-created as profiles according to the shape of the die.

The extrusion technology serves many kinds of materials. Meat, as well as spagetti and even tooth paste are extruded through shaped holes to be re-create in a profiled shape. This technology, which is relatively cheap - much cheaper than casting technology - can serve various needs, as long as the end product needs to be shaped lengthwise. We provide profiles in various lengths, from a few milimiters (parts for machines, for examples) to many meters (for construction of buildings) but usually not over 6 meters in length as this is the standard shipping size in trucks and sea containers.

The size of profiles in their shaped face is determined by the size of the die and the strength of the press. Alubin manufacture profiles in sizes varying from a few mm to 25 cm.

There are 3 presses in the factory, one in the SHL site and two in the Alubin site. An additional press is active now in our Mexico site.
